Where billing actually lives
Kustiq runs its own subscription on Stripe. Stripe-hosted Checkout handles signup. The Stripe customer portal handles every change after that. The portal lives at /dashboard/billing. Card numbers and CVCs never touch Kustiq servers. PCI scope is entirely on Stripe, which holds PCI Service Provider Level 1.
This page is the billing docs for your Kustiq subscription. If you are looking for the Stripe Connectintegration that feeds Kustiq’s churn engine, see /docs/stripe. Your Kustiq subscription is a regular Stripe Checkout on Kustiq’s own merchant account. The Connect integration is a separate read-only OAuth grant on your Stripe account. Two distinct grants, one or both, on the same Stripe account.
Plans on the meter
Full pricing lives on /pricing. Headline tiers:
Update card on file
Open /dashboard/billing then click Update card. The link opens the Stripe customer portal in the same tab. Changes apply to the next invoice. Old cards stay attached to your Stripe customer record until you remove them inside the portal.
Change plan
Upgrade and downgrade are prorated through Stripe. Your credit cap lifts to the new plan immediately; the next fresh credit grant lands on your normal monthly boundary. Stripe charges the new tier on the next billing cycle. Plan prices and credit allotments live on /pricing.
Cancel subscription
Open /dashboard/billing then click Cancel subscription. Access continues through the end of the current billing period; no refund for partial months. Workspace data is preserved on free-plan access until you erase it. Extra credit packs stay available regardless of subscription status.
Download invoices
Every past invoice is a PDF inside the Stripe customer portal at /dashboard/billing. CSV export for accounting downloads from the same portal. Tax line items follow your billing address. EU VAT and US sales tax are auto-applied. EU B2B customers add a VAT ID in the customer portal; once Stripe Tax verifies it, future invoices apply reverse-charge.
When a charge fails
Kustiq enters a dunning state. Stripe retries the card up to 3 times over a 7-day window using its automatic retry logic. The schedule mirrors what /terms commits to. If every retry fails, the workspace reverts to free-plan access until you update the card on file. Past data stays accessible. Extra credits already purchased stay available. Stripe emails the cardholder on each retry; Kustiq surfaces a banner on /dashboard/billing while the workspace is in dunning.
