Clearbit Alternatives (2026): 7 Tools to Replace Breeze, With Real Prices

Clearbit is now HubSpot Breeze: credits cost $0.45 each and require a paid HubSpot seat. Seven alternatives with verified pricing, free tiers, and honest trade-offs.

The short answer: Clearbit is gone as a product you can buy on its own. HubSpot acquired it and relaunched it as Breeze Intelligence, which costs $0.45 per enrichment credit and requires a paid HubSpot seat before you spend your first credit. If you live in HubSpot anyway, Breeze may still be the path of least resistance. If you do not, the practical replacements split by job: Kustiq for company enrichment with an SMTP-verified contact attached ($39/mo flat, free tier), Hunter for cheap raw email lookups (~$0.025 per find), Apollo for volume outbound, and Clay if you want to rebuild Clearbit-style waterfall enrichment yourself. Everything below is the detail, with the date each price was verified.

Most "Clearbit alternatives" lists were written before the acquisition finished and compare against a product that no longer exists. This one starts from what actually happened, because what happened is the reason you are searching.

Full disclosure: We build Kustiq, one of the seven tools below. Where a competitor fits your case better than we do, we say so by name, and there is a "do not use Kustiq if" list further down. We would rather you pick the right tool than the loudest one.

What actually happened to Clearbit

HubSpot announced its acquisition of Clearbit in late 2023 and completed the absorption over the following year. The Clearbit brand was retired and the enrichment engine resurfaced as Breeze Intelligence, sold as an add-on inside HubSpot's ecosystem. Three practical consequences for anyone who used the old product:

The standalone product is gone. You cannot sign up for Clearbit today. Breeze Intelligence credits list at $0.45 each, and using them requires a paid seat on a HubSpot plan. The enrichment quality lineage is real, but the entry condition changed from "have a credit card" to "be a HubSpot customer."

Clearbit Connect is gone. The free Gmail extension that looked up emails from your inbox, the product that made Clearbit famous, was retired after the acquisition. There is no Breeze equivalent of the free lookup, so ex-Connect users have nothing to stay on: the choice is which replacement, not whether.

The free API tiers are gone. The freely accessible endpoints developers built side projects on were wound down with the brand. Programmatic enrichment now means either HubSpot's ecosystem or a different vendor's API.

If you came here for the head-to-head, our Kustiq vs Clearbit page runs one workload through both. This post is the wider map.

How we evaluated

Every price in this post was captured from the vendor's public pricing page on April 17, 2026 and re-verified on July 18, 2026, using the normalization method from our B2B data provider pricing breakdown: subscriptions amortized over entry-tier credits, seat fees separated out, quote-only vendors marked with third-party contract midpoints rather than guesses. Accuracy numbers come from cited external studies, not from us. The first-party part: we run our own pipeline on our own outbound every week and have published the results of profiling 500+ B2B companies through it.

One thing this post refuses to do is print "affordable pricing" without a number. If a price is not on this page with a verification date, we could not verify it.

Prices captured 2026-04-17, re-verified against the live vendor pages 2026-07-18. Several vendors restructured pricing in between (Hunter, Lusha, Clay, RocketReach); details and caveats per tool below.

1. Kustiq

Kustiq covers the two Clearbit jobs most teams actually used: enrich a company from its domain, and get a contact you can email. Paste a domain and the pipeline reads the live website, classifies the company across 22 verticals and 88 segments, scores fit against your ICP, flags churn risk, and returns a 20-field profile with a decision-maker contact. The difference from Clearbit's model is structural: nothing is served from a stored database. Every profile is generated fresh from the live web at request time, and the contact's email is validated through a live SMTP handshake with the recipient's mail server before you see it.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-18): Free tier is 3 profiles a week with a free account, 1 a week with no account at all, no card either way. Insight is $39/mo for 200 credits, Pro is $119/mo for 800. One credit is one company profile. No seat fees and no platform prerequisite, which is the line item Breeze cannot match: there is no HubSpot seat to buy first.

For ex-Connect users: Contact Finder is the closest thing on this list to what Connect did, upgraded. Paste or upload a company list and get up to 3 SMTP-verified decision-maker contacts per company, 1 credit per company, up to 1,000 companies per batch.

Cons, honestly: no phone numbers, no native CRM-resident enrichment the way Breeze lives inside HubSpot, and no bulk 10,000-row database exports. Profiles are generated one at a time (or in batches via Contact Finder), so spray-volume outbound is cheaper elsewhere.

Do not use Kustiq if: you need enrichment written directly into HubSpot properties at form-fill time (that is Breeze's home turf), you need direct dials, or you just need thousands of raw addresses in bulk. Those cases are covered by Breeze, Lusha, and Apollo respectively.

2. Apollo.io

Apollo is where a lot of ex-Clearbit teams land when the real job was outbound volume all along: a 270M+ contact database, sequencing, a dialer, and enrichment as a supporting feature rather than the headline.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-20): free tier with capped credits. Basic is $49 per seat per month billed annually or $65 billed monthly, Professional $79 and $99. The 2026 move to a unified credit pool (email 1 credit, phone 8) has settled for new signups, though older accounts can still sit on legacy credit types. The bill is per login, and credit allowances are cycle-based buckets rather than a balance you keep. Our why teams leave Apollo breakdown covers both.

Why ex-Clearbit users pick it: the most contact volume per dollar on this list, and CRM enrichment features that partially cover what Breeze does, without requiring HubSpot.

Cons: Sparkle's 450-lead test measured a 13.3% verifier bounce on Apollo output, and Cleanlist's 1,000-lead study put its accuracy at 80%. Enrichment depth is firmographic basics, not the attribute richness Clearbit was known for.

3. Hunter

Hunter is the most direct free-Connect replacement for the lookup habit: type a domain, get the company's likely email pattern and known addresses with confidence scores.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-18): free tier of 50 credits a month, which quietly makes it the best free Clearbit Connect substitute on raw lookups. Starter is $49/mo for 2,000 finds, roughly $0.025 per email find ($34/mo billed annually). No seat fees.

Why ex-Connect users pick it: the workflow feel is closest to Connect, the free tier is real, and nothing on this list is cheaper per address.

Cons: email only, no company enrichment, no phone numbers. And a pattern-plus-MX check tells you an address is plausible, not that the mailbox accepts mail. In our own SMTP data, 66.8% of 211 B2B domains we probed run catch-all mail servers, which accept mail for any address, real or invented. Against those domains a pattern guess can never honestly be called verified; the difference shows up in your bounce rate.

4. UpLead

UpLead is the clean-database pick: credit-based pricing, firmographic filters for list building, and export-time verification that keeps bounce rates down.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-18): 7-day free trial with 5 credits; Essentials is $74/mo billed annually ($99 monthly) for 170 credits, about $0.44 per contact at the annual rate. No seat fees.

Why ex-Clearbit users pick it: if the Clearbit job was building filtered prospect lists with decent firmographics, UpLead does that plainly and verifies at export.

Cons: a static database with no intelligence layer, thinner attribute depth than Clearbit had, and the credit math loses to Apollo at volume.

5. Lusha

Lusha is the fastest path from a LinkedIn profile to an email and often a direct dial, which covers the person-lookup half of what Connect did, from a different starting point.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-20): free tier of 40 credits a month. Lusha sells plan bundles since mid-2026: Starter is $49.90/mo for 400 credits with 1 seat included ($32.45/mo on the current yearly promo), Pro $69.90/mo for 600 credits with 2 seats. An email costs 1 credit, a phone number 10.

Why ex-Connect users pick it: if your prospecting starts from LinkedIn profiles rather than domains, Lusha removes every step between seeing a person and having their contact.

Cons: phone numbers burn credits at 10x the email rate, company enrichment is a basic card, and it is a lookup tool with no signal on whether the account is worth the click.

6. Clay

Clay is the choice for teams that loved Clearbit's flexibility and want more of it: a spreadsheet-style workflow builder that orchestrates 75+ data providers with waterfall logic and an AI research agent. You can rebuild Clearbit-grade enrichment, then exceed it.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-18): free tier of 100 credits a month; the entry paid tier, renamed Launch in 2026, starts around $167/mo for 3,000 credits, plus whatever the underlying providers charge through your workflows.

Why ex-Clearbit users pick it: waterfall enrichment across many providers beats any single database on coverage, and technical operators get exactly the attributes they want.

Cons: the setup time is real and the $167 is the entry ticket, not the total. Clay is a build-your-own-Clearbit kit, and kits only save money for people who enjoy assembling them.

7. RocketReach

RocketReach matters here mostly for one word: API. Of the self-serve tools on this list, it is the most direct answer for developers who used Clearbit's API for contact lookups.

Pricing (verified 2026-07-18, best-effort: the pricing page blocks automated access): Pro is $829/yr, about $69 a month, for 3,600 lookups a year, roughly $0.23 per lookup. Email-only Essentials is $329/yr. Per user, annual billing to get those rates, and 5 free lookups to start.

Why ex-Clearbit users pick it: an affordable lookup API and a large database (700M+ profiles) for occasional cross-industry lookups.

Cons: 5 free lookups is barely a test, pricing is per user with an annual commitment, and enrichment is basic firmographics. Our RocketReach vs Kustiq page runs one workload through both.

Match the tool to the Clearbit job you are replacing

Clearbit was really three products, and no single alternative replaces all of them equally. Map your actual usage:

The Breeze row is the point: every alternative on this list has a self-contained price. Breeze's real cost is the credit price plus whatever HubSpot tier you are on, which makes it cheap for existing HubSpot Pro customers and expensive as an entry ticket for everyone else.

When staying with Breeze is the right call

Sometimes it is. If your company already runs on HubSpot Professional or Enterprise, forms enrichment and CRM-resident data are Breeze's home advantage, and no external tool will match the friction of data appearing directly in the properties your team already works in. The searchers this post is for are the other group: teams who used Clearbit without HubSpot, Connect users who lost a free tool, and developers whose API went away. For them, Breeze is not an upgrade path, it is a platform migration with a data tool attached.

How to choose in one evening

Start with the free tiers. Kustiq, Hunter, Lusha, Apollo, and Clay all have one. Run the same 10 companies you know well through two or three tools and compare what comes back against ground truth. Enrichment quality varies wildly by market, and no listicle (including this one) knows your niche better than that test will.

Match the tool to the job you actually had. Domain enrichment with a contact attached: Kustiq. Cheap raw lookups: Hunter. LinkedIn-native: Lusha. Volume outbound: Apollo. Build-it-yourself waterfalls: Clay. Lookup API: RocketReach.

Check the verification method before the price. Clearbit-era data habits assumed a mostly clean database world. Two thirds of the B2B domains we probe run catch-all servers where pattern guesses are unfalsifiable, and stale records decay at roughly 2.1% per month (D&B's figure). A contact that bounces costs more than the credit: it burns sending-domain reputation you cannot buy back. This is why we verify with a live SMTP handshake at delivery time, and why we would make the same argument even if we did not.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happened to Clearbit?
HubSpot acquired Clearbit (announced late 2023) and retired the standalone product. The enrichment engine now lives inside HubSpot as Breeze Intelligence, priced at $0.45 per credit and requiring a paid HubSpot seat. The free Clearbit Connect extension and the freely accessible API tiers were discontinued.
What is the best Clearbit alternative?
It depends on which Clearbit job you are replacing. For company enrichment with an SMTP-verified contact, Kustiq starts free (3 profiles a week) and runs $39/month flat with no platform prerequisite. For cheap email lookups replacing Clearbit Connect, Hunter is about $0.025 per find with 50 free credits monthly. For rebuilding waterfall enrichment, Clay starts around $167/month. All prices were re-verified July 18, 2026.
Is there a free Clearbit alternative?
Several tools have real free tiers: Kustiq (3 company profiles per week, identical to paid output, no card), Hunter (50 credits per month), Lusha (40 credits per month), Apollo (capped credits), and Clay (100 credits per month). Breeze Intelligence itself has no free tier and requires a paid HubSpot seat.
What replaced Clearbit Connect?
Nothing official: HubSpot retired Connect without a free successor. The closest workflow substitutes are Hunter for cheap pattern-based lookups (50 free credits a month) and Kustiq Contact Finder for verified lookups: paste a company list, get up to 3 SMTP-verified decision-maker contacts per company at 1 credit per company.
Is Breeze Intelligence the same as Clearbit?
It is built on Clearbit technology, but the product shape changed. Breeze is an add-on inside HubSpot: credits cost $0.45 each, require a paid HubSpot seat, and the enrichment writes into HubSpot properties. There is no standalone signup, no free extension, and no free API tier, all of which existed in the Clearbit era.
Do Clearbit alternatives have accurate data?
Verification method matters more than brand. Static databases decay at roughly 2.1% per month (D&B), and 66.8% of 211 B2B domains in our SMTP tests run catch-all servers where pattern guesses cannot be falsified. Cleanlist measured Apollo at 80% accuracy; UpLead verifies at export; Kustiq generates each record fresh and validates emails with a live SMTP handshake at delivery. The reliable move is testing your own 10 known companies on the free tiers.

Key takeaways

  • The search term is outdated, the need is not. Clearbit is now Breeze, an add-on that requires a paid HubSpot seat and prices at $0.45 per credit with no free tier.
  • Identify which Clearbit you used. Enrichment, Connect lookups, and the API each have different best replacements; no tool wins all three.
  • Every price here has a verification date. Captured April 17, 2026, re-verified July 18. Treat any vendor page that says "affordable" without a number as a warning.
  • Free tiers are your due diligence. Five of the seven alternatives let you test real data quality on companies you already know before paying.
  • Verification beats vintage. Fresh-generated, SMTP-verified data sidesteps both database decay and the catch-all problem that pattern-guessing lookups cannot solve.
